Okay guys, I assume this is an easy thing that I’m just not able to wrap my brain around.
I went to activate a font then deactivate it and I found that it wasn’t actually deactivating. I looked and saw that FontBOOK was keeping them activated within its own software…
Is this something I’m doing wrong or is there a work around I can do so I can fully have a font deactivated when not using?
Hello Des, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
This is a very interesting case Don’t think you’re doing anything wrong. Also doesn’t seem like there is anything at the FontBase’s side that can be changed to resolve how FontBOOK operates. Have you perhaps tried contacting their support to see if something can be done to remedy the situation?
Hi Dlast
Only for Windows. Fontbase font management works besides Windows fonts and installs “dynamically”, not fix in the system of windows fonts. Some simple Windows apps can’t deal with this but Adobe can. In the past I worked also with Adobe apps and Adobe fonts. If Adobe fonts activated with Adobe Cloud the fonts are only to use in Adobe apps (if I remenber right). But I don’t know FontBOOK and how it works. If you activate/deactivate fonts in Fontbase they should disappear in FontBOOK too(?!). Some apps in Windows have to be closed and opened again to accept changes, especially activation …
