I’m adding some new fonts (stored in a watched Dropbox folder) to existing collection. I activate some of them to try in Illustrator. All works fine until i restart. After I restart next day, the collection has only those fonts which were there previously before my updates. It happened to me twice. Trying to replicate the same bug now, but all works fine, even after restart.
Please include the flowing when reporting a bug:
- Windows 11 version 21H2
- FontBase version 2.17.5
Hello @dimastrapchev, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum:)
Because of how Dropbox stores its files, and since you’re using the watched folder functionality, it’s possible that, in case both Dropbox and FontBase open on startup, the Dropbox fonts are not “available” when FontBase starts, so FontBase thinks the files are missing and cleans up accordingly. A possible solution would be to launch FontBase after Dropbox has opened and made files available. This doesn’t happen always, but it can happen sometimes, unfortunately. I’m afraid at the moment there is nothing on our end we can do to try to catch this Dropbox behaviour and do something about it.
Hope this helps at least somewhat,
