(FIXED) 2.20.7 not working on fresh mac install

  • Mac Studio/Apple M2 Max | MacOS Sonoma 14.2.1
  • FontBase 2.20.7

Downloaded a fresh install. Cannot start the application. Have been A/B testing this against FontAgent after Fontbase randomly deleted all of my saved folders, tags etc. a few months ago. Want to give FontBase one more shot before I pay for FontAgent, which I don’t love, but has been more stable. Here is the rundown:

  • Quit FontAgent, turned off all auto-logins
  • Downloaded/installed 2.20.7
  • restarted
  • opened application; nothing happens; does not pop up in dock;
  • restarted; open application; nothing again, though shows up in Activity Monitor?

Any ideas?

This app behaviour is quite odd, hm.
Would it be possible for you to try to reset the settings following guide Reset Settings — FontBase Tutorials and see if that helps? To uninstall FontBase, reset the settings, then install again.
