I was wondering if it is possible to automatically activate specific fonts each time FontBase starts. There are a few fonts that I always want to have activated, but I prefer not to install them directly on my computer.
For example, i have the FontAwesome font that doesn’t work with the adobe auto-activate plugin. So i want to activate that font when fontbase starts.
Hello @Christiaantenberge, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
The simplest way to do this would be to just add such fonts into FontBase and activate them. When you exit FontBase, the fonts will be deactivated, but next time FontBase launches they will be re-activated again.
Thank you again,

Thanks for your answer. But this is not working for me. I manually activate this font every time now. And every time FontBase starts after my computer has been shut down, I have to reactivate the font. Could it perhaps be because my root folder is on an external server that I need to connect to first?
Thank you for the quick reply and the additional info
Indeed, having a watched or root folder on a network drive, especially if you have FontBase launch at computer startup, would be the most likely cause of this behaviour. A bit more on this here in our official FAQ.
Besides the way less convenient way of keeping the root folder on a local drive, an alternative would be to launch FontBase manually after starting the computer and making sure all the system startup processes have been completed. This is by no means ideal convenience-wise, but it should do the trick:)
Hope this helps
