Auto-Activation V. 2.19.4 does not work

Tested with Illustrator 2024 and Google Fonts (default). Auto-Activation V. 2.19.4 does not work.

Mac OS Sonoma 14.1, IMac 2019 27", 3,7 GHz Intel Core i5, Radeon Pro 580X 8 Go, 64 Go 2667 MHz DDR4. Adobe Indesign, Illustrator and Photoshop 2024 are installed.

Hello @frichard, thank you for your post
Could you please describe the step-by-step process you’re following? This will really help in understanding where exactly the problem may be.
Also, does auto-activation work in InDesign and Photoshop 2024?
Thank you again,
Yuriy
FontBase Dev Team

Auto-activation works in Photoshop 2024 and Indesign 2024, 3-4 seconds after opening a document.

Auto-activation does not work in Illustrator 2024.

Procedure:
1- In FB: Activate a font
2- In AI: Select a text and choose the font activated in FB
3- Save and close the AI document
4- Deactivate the font in FB
5- Open AI document
6- Error message appears in AI: This font is unavailable.

Thank you for such a quick reply and the additional information
After step 5 is the font activated in FontBase?

No. The font remains disabled.

@yuriy auto activation not working for me either. i manually downloaded the new update, closed the program and reopened as well as restarted computer but getting same error.

Thank you for the quick reply
Would it be possible to check if the Illustrator 2024 plugin is installed correctly? The correct path should be displayed in the respective field in the Settings page and the FontBase plugin folder should be present when viewing Illustrator 2024’s Plug-Ins folder via a file manager.
If it’s already there and everything seems to be in order, could you please try to remove to FontBase plugin and re-install it from the Settings page?
Thank you again,

Hello @RedHaute, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
Do you have the same situation where the plugin for Illustrator 2024 is not working, but the other plugins are working without any issues?
Thank you again,

Strangely, FontBase was installed outside the Illustrator plugins folder, at the same level as Illustrator. I’ve reinstalled FB in the Illustrator plugins folder and everything works normally. Thanks for your help.

Suddenly the auto-activation does not work anymore. What can be the problem?
It does not work in Illustrator and Indesign.

I have the latest version of font base 2.19.4
Adobe Illustrator 2024 28.0
Indesign 2024 19.0.1

MacBook Pro Apple M1 Max
Sonoma 14.1.2

@yuriy would you have a solution? Best regards

Hello @Faro, thank you for your post
Would you happen to remember what changed between the last time auto-activation worked and when it stopped? Has there been any hardware or software update for example? Could you please also check if the FontBase CC plugins are installed correctly?
Thank you again,
Yuriy

Hello @yuriy, the only thing that was changed was the update of Mac OS 14.1.2.
After that I had support of Adobe, because the synchronization of the libraries does not work properly. But I don’t think they changed something. They deleted some credentials in the keychain.

@yuriy To answer all you questions, the Fontbase CC plugins are installed correctly.
I’ve also uninstalled Illustrator and reinstalled illustrator again, also uninstalled FontBase and reinstalled FontBase again, and also made sure that the plugins are installed correctly.
Best regards

@yuriy Do you have a solution? I really don’t know how to solve this. Best regards

Thank you for the quick reply and the additional information
Does ordinary font activation work without any problems?
Also, does auto-activation still work in Photoshop if you happen to have it installed?
Thank you again,
Yuriy

@yuriy Yes manual font activation works perfect. I’ve tested the auto-activation in Photoshop and Indesign, this also doesn’t work.

Thank you for running the additional test
There is no apparent reason why the plugins would fail given the circumstances. Is it possible that the Adobe support did something with FontBase plugins’ permissions? This is the only thing that comes to mind for now I’m afraid :pensive:

Is the plugin is here ?

Yes they are.
