Bug report on windows 11 24H2 (KB5050009 & KB5049622)

there is an issue/bug with Windows 11 14th Jan 2025 Cumulative updates (KB5050009 & KB5049622)
with those 2 updates installed fonts not loading on many applications even after opening the Fontbase application…Then I checked and confirmed this by uninstalling and installing those 2 mentioned updates twice and both results were the same…which is with those updates fonts not loading and without those 2 updates fonts are loading normally.

Below are some brief technical information that may be useful:
OS: Windows 11 24H2
Problematic Update Packages: KB5050009 & KB5049622 (screenshot attached)
Behaviour(Bug/Expected): with updates fonts not loading and without updates working normally
Fontbase version: 2.21.0

Hello @Mainak007, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
When you’ve mentioned “installed fonts”, do you mean the fonts manually installed on Windows, or the fonts activated in FontBase, or both?

Thank you again,

I mean those that are activated through Fontbase are not showing 95% time, rest 5% time some show some not but that’s very rare

windows installed fonts are working those have no impact

Thank you @Mainak007 for the quick reply and the additional information
Have you perhaps had the chance to re-install FontBase and reset the settings after the update to see if that would make a difference?

Thank you again,

I haven’t tried that for now I’ve uninstalled the Windows update and am doing my work, I will try that later

okay, so yesterday I uninstalled & reinstalled Fontbase with those problematic updates mentioned above and somehow the issue got fixed automatically… It seems like it was some font cache-related issue…and I’m sorry for creating the topic before trying this basic fix.

Hello @Mainak007, thank you for the update
Brilliant, glad to hear it’s resolved now
No, no, no, thank you for creating the topic, always good to be aware of things like this just in case.

Thank you again,

PS Closing as resolved
