Hello, suddenly I can’t login from my app, it says I should check my internet connection. Needless to say, everything else works. I can’t use my subscription this way, what should I do?
Thanks.

Hello @tritrek, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
If I may ask a few questions to better understand the situation:
Would you happen to remember when did this start?
From what I understand login used to work fine until it didn’t?
Do you happen to have access to another FontBase installation, e.g. on another computer, to see if your login credentials would work there?
Also, have you perhaps already tried uninstalling the app, restarting the system, then re-installing it to see if that would make a difference?

Thank you again,

Truth be told, I’ve been seeing that message on the top for a while now (that it can’t log in) but it was working fine, as I did not add new fonts. However, I have added new fonts and they didn’t show up, so I started investigating, I have reinstalled the app as a first step, and then I couldn’t log in. So, here I am.

Thank you for your reply @tritrek
Did the re-installation fix the issue you had with adding fonts?
Also, is your subscription currently active?

Thank you again,

Sorry for the late reply @yuriy .

No, re-installation didn’t fix my problem.
Yes, my subscription is “Active. Next renewal: Mar 16, 2025”

Thank you for your reply @tritrek
So currently you are still unable to add fonts into FontBase, correct? What happens exactly when you’re trying to do that?
Regarding the login issue, could you please drop us an email at mail@fontba.se from the email you have registered as your login email to resolve this?

Thank you again,

I have sent you the requested email.
As for the behaviour: I have watched folders set in Fontbase and earlier, if I added a font file to that folder it popped up in Fontabse, meaning, if I looked for the font name, it has found it. Now, they don’t show up, even if I restart Fontbase.

Thank you for the quick reply @tritrek
Could you please attach a screenshot of such a folder in the folder list in FontBase’s left sidebar?
Like so:

Thank you again,

Would love to, but:

“An error occurred: Sorry, you can’t embed media items in a post.”

Does saving a screenshot to the clipboard and cmd+V right in the message text also not work?

Yup, same outcome. So let’s do it this way https://imgur.com/a/6JJUhOs

Thank you for the quick reply
The folders you have in the screenshot are all regular folders, not watched. This means making changes to the original folders, if they are outside of FontBase, will not change the ones in FontBase since it made its own copy. However, making changes to the folders inside the current FontBase root folder should work fine. Is that currently the case?

Thank you again,

I don’t have any files in the root folder, I have all my fonts on network drives. Should I copy them to the root folder? Or, how do I add watched folders?
Also, what about the login (the original issue)?
Thanks

Thank you for the quick reply
If you had no files in your root folder, then you would have no folders displayed in FontBase, so they’re definitely there:) The root folder path can be viewed by going to the Settings page, then checking the path in the “Root folder” section. Alternatively, you can right-click the “FOLDERS” title in the sidebar of the main page, then select “Open root folder” and it will be opened in your default file manager.
Adding fonts from network drives via watched folders is not 100% stable (as mentioned here Frequently Asked Questions — FontBase Tutorials), so the more reliable solution would be to add them as regular folders. We actually have a set of short tutorials on Youtube regarding this, might come in handly  The last video also answers your question about adding watched folders.
But here

you’ve mentioned that you already had watched folders in the app. I’m a bit confused by your question regarding how to add them if you’ve already done this in the past?

Regarding your last question - the reply was supposed to arrive 2 days ago - are you sure it wasn’t added into the junk main/spam folder or something?

Thank you again,

OK, with all due respect towards my own self: I’m stupid  I have noticed the problem with NW drives and have copied the fonts to my root folder, but kept adding all new files to the original NW folder!!! No surprise they didn’t show up… LOL.
I have copied the files to my local drive and they showed up!
So, this part is resolved.
What about the login part? I have checked the spam folder and nada. Could you please try to re-send the e-mail? Thank you.

Glad to hear the sync part was resolved:)
Have already pinged about the email missing, it should be resent soon

Thank you again,
