CPU activity of Fontbase

Hi Yuriy

I’m wondering why Fontbase is very active in the CPU. My notebook is an older version, Intel I7 (about third generation) and more than 8 years old but working well at all (WIndows 10, 11). The activity commutes permanently between 23 and 0% (most time around 20%) of CPU. Yes I’ve many fonts loaded (but not activated) in watched folders, including all Google fonts (2025) offline. Do you have any idea why this happens?
In the task manager I see 4 instances of Fontbase …(?)

Regards
Matt

Hello Matthias, thank you for your post :folded_hands:
The most likely cause is FontBase polling for changes (deletions, additions etc), hence the spikes.
As for the 4 processes - these are not the extra copies of the app, no need to worry:) Just background processes that help manage activation etc.

Thank you again,

Thank you for the answer. So it should cause less CPU activity, when no changes are made for some time (delete or add fonts), but I assume the activity continues …

Thank you for your answer Matt :folded_hands:
The fewer files are added into the app and the fewer changes are made, the lower the CPU consumption, yes.

Thank you again,
