Disable Google Fonts feature

Is it possible to completely disable the Google Fonts feature?

In Providers it shows as ‘Enabled’ but I can’t find a way to disable it. I’m not talking about disabling individual fonts, but the whole feature, permanently. I’ve used Hide, but when the app updates, all the Google Fonts come back again. This is frustrating when managing multiple users.

The reason for this is that Adobe Fonts has most of the Google Fonts in OTF format. This is the format we prefer to use, but auto activation can easily end up activating both versions or not the version the document requires, font clashing can occur and it’s wasting time to resolve.

Hello again @rmlnz and thank you for your post :folded_hands:
This definitely shouldn’t happen under normal circumstances. All users (e.g. if they use the same Root folder location via a shared drive) setting the Google Fonts to hidden, i.e. clicking Hide on the Google Fonts provider, should produce the result you’re looking for.
There is no other way to disable this provider as far as I know.
Have all the users updates FontBase to its latest version?

Thank you again,

Ok, I have made sure all users have hidden it and will monitor to see what happens with the next update. This was based on observations with the last couple of updates. I know that auto updates weren’t always working and we had to manually install the last two, which usually brings the Google Fonts back again. I will say that having ‘Enabled’ on the feature kind of implies it can be disabled, especially as FontMarket is disabled until you subscribe.
