[Feature request] Remember text sample

I usually use a custom text sample related to my current project, for instance the name of the brand when looking for typefaces to base a logo on.

Currently, quitting Font Base and launching it again loose the current text sample. Even going away from “Organize” and going back to it looses the text sample. It would be great for Font Base to store it somewhere and leave the latest font sample on.

Bonus: Have a little history of x recently used font samples, accessible from the dropup menu along with the presets.

Hello @nclm, thank you for your post
Your request seems very similar to how Text samples in the Settings page work. Have you already had the opportunity to try them out?

Thank you again,

Hi thanks! Yes I did, put some generic samples for other languages there

This idea is more about remembering what you write directly in the field in Organize. So you can write some relevant words/letters, test some fonts in Preview for instance, then go back to Organize and have the “temporary” text sample still there instead of erased. The behaviour is quite unexpected as it is now

A good example is how Nexusfont does it. The app does always reopen with the latest sample that was used, and the dropdown is a list of the latest used samples. I think FontExplorer was doing something similar as well? A mix of this and how you do it with the presets in Settings would be ideal!

Even when choosing a sample from the settings, it does get reset to the first sample currently.
