The new Font Market addition is messing with my exiting font list.
It’s creating conflicts because some of the fonts I already have are listed there too.
I’ve tried hiding the Font Market using the ‘Hide’ option, but it keeps showing the list each time I restart my computer. Same with Google fonts. It doesn’t honor the ‘Hide’ option.
I don’t want this Font Market at all, this isn’t helpful to me, but I can’t turn it off and there is nothing in the settings that came help me either.
This should be a feature that isn’t active until I activate it manually. I don’t want to browse fonts I don’t have on my font manager. I just want it to manage the fonts I do have.
This feature is now creating problems that is taking time away from my work so I can try and find work arounds. This is completely defeat the purpose of using a font manager.
Can some thing please be done to change this?
Or at least implement an option in the settings to completely turn off Font Market or any future additions like this.
Operating system version: Windows 11 Home (26200.7462)
Hello Cyrus, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
Will try to help as best as I can. Before the update, did you keep any of your personal fonts in the Providers folder?
I set up some watched folders for the fonts I have.
None of them appear in under the ‘Provider’ section. There is a ‘Folders’ section under that and that’s where I can see them in the app.
When I checked the file location of the Google fonts it only has a Google folder in the Providers folder. All my watched folders are listed in the FontBase folder next to (on the same level as) the Providers folder.
But that is what the program did when I set them up. I didn’t arrange it that way.
Hello Cyrus, thank you for your reply and the additional information
Selecting “Hide” in provider’s right-click menu should do exactly what you’re looking for, so the app behaviour you’re describing is very odd.
Is your FontBase installed on a local or a network drive?
Looks like FontMarket is behaving now and my total number of fonts has gone back down, so it looks like the FontMarket list isn’t showing there now. (I’m not sure if anything was changed in any updates since posting this, but if so, thank you).
But Google fonts hasn’t.
I’ve attached a screenshot (not sure if that helps at all.)
I’ve clicked Hide on Google fonts multiple times since that was added and nothing changes.
It just has the blue circle. I’m not sure what that means, but I’ve tried deactivating it and hiding it, but nothing changes. It just stays blue like that.
I have a bunch of the fonts that Google fonts has as well.
The three fonts in the first screen shot are the Google fonts versions. They are duplicates of fonts I have in screen shot 2. (Thankfully, the names have been changed at some point, so I can tell them apart now without having to go in and read the root directory for each one.)
But as you can see they aren’t hidden like they should be.
Google fonts added 5000+ fonts to my already long list and a tone are duplicates.
It would be great to not have to deal with those.
Is there is anything that can be done to fix this?
Thank you for the quick reply and the additional info
The issue seems a bit clearer now - resetting FontBase settings should fix this. The guide on how to do it can be found here: https://fontba.se/learn/reset-settings
After the settings are reset and everything is back to normal, the extra files in the Google folder inside Providers will probably have to be deleted manually via your usual file manager.
