I have recently rebuilt my M4 Mac mini (profile data is on an external drive)
I have added all my fonts and activated some from Google (using the built in option) and activated some of my owned fonts.
When I fire up Affinity (any of the apps), Final Cut Pro, etc. I have no option for any of the activated fonts.
I have reset the “data” folder
I have reset the app
I have re-installed the app
I have de-activated and then re-activated the fonts
Closed and re-opened the apps (Affinity, FCP, Etc)
Checked the macOS system settings as advised online
I am still having issues, I didn’t have any issues before the rebuild, but with a fresh system I should have basic function issues

Hello Adam, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
From what you’ve described seems like the cause of the issue is the moving of the profile from the default location to different one (external drive), as no other major parameters have changed.
At the moment I’m not sure if there is an option to remedy this within the app itself without having the profile in its original location I’m afraid.
Hello, I am having this issue so far with illustrator. I have activated the fonts but illustrator does not see it. I have also added the plugin folders for adobe apps in the settings. In fact, fonts that are deactivated in fontbase show up in illustrator…
Hello @worldpeas, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
So just to clarify, fonts don’t show up in Illustrator when activated, but the same fonts show up when they get deactivated?
Hello, sorry I think i didn’t explain it properly. Activated fonts do not show up in Illustrator. However there are some fonts that are not activated in fontbase but they show up in Illustrator. So I don’t know if Illustrator is following what is activated or not…
Thank you for the quick reply @worldpeas
I see, thank you. The active fonts are most likely the ones already installed on your computer. FontBase is not designed to deactivate them. As for Illustrator, if the activated fonts are showing up in other apps, then the issue is most likely within the Illustrator itself I’m afraid.
