FontBase for Large Firm?

Hello,
I tried using the mail:to link to send an email from the FontBase website but it wouldn’t work. Hope it’s ok to post my email here. I’m not sure if private messaging is possible here, just made this account to contact you. If it’s possible to move this conversation to email, that would be preferred. Thanks… My email is below:

Hello,
I work at a large design firm with about 200 employees. We are researching font management systems that could potentially work for our firm, and I’m curious to learn more about FontBase. Currently, all of our fonts (thousands of them) live in a folder on our server, and it’s difficult to manage between several users. Our firm is made up of architects, planners, interior designers, landscape architects, graphic designers, and a robust marketing team. Out of the ~200 in our firm, I foresee about 20-30 benefiting from the “Awesome” features. I have several questions that I’m hoping you can help me with as we are looking into FontBase. I’m also happy to schedule a virtual meeting if that is easier.

Questions below:

  1. Currently, all of our fonts live on our shared server that everyone in our firm can access. Is the idea that we load all of those fonts onto FontBase to live there, where they can then be accessed by everyone?
  2. Will this free up storage space on our server, if we are moving all fonts to FontBase? Or will the font files still need to live on our server?
  3. Is it possible to define categories and folders of fonts globally across the whole firm? For example, to create “Brand Fonts” folder that everyone in the firm has set on their FontBase application?
  4. I see there is an integration with Google Fonts—similarly, some font managers have partnerships with type foundries, giving users the capability to activate their fonts to use to an extent before purchasing. Does FontBase offer anything like that?
  5. We use an intranet provider called Synthesis by Knowledge-Architecture. Would FontBase support integration for Synthesis? Probably not a big deal if not, just curious.

Thank you, and again, I’m happy to schedule a call to discuss.
Charlie
