FontBase interface cannot be reopened

  • MacOS Ventura 13.7.8
  • FontBase 2026.2
  • When Mac wakes up and is logged in

This just started happening. Every time the Mac wakes up from sleep, FontBase has disappeared from the menu bar. It cannot be viewed but it is still running. When going to Applications and trying to reopen FontBase, nothing happens. The usual Force Quit does not show FontBase in the list of running apps.

However, if Activity Monitor is used, FontBase does show as running and it can only be quit from here. Sometimes when reopening the app, FontBase shows in the menu bar briefly before disappearing again.

FontBase is set to hide to tray on close and start hidden.

Hello @rmlnz, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum :folded_hands:
Have you perhaps already tried uninstalling and re-installing the app in case there were OS updates or any other changes that could affect its work?

Thank you again,

Thanks I will try that and see what happens. It’s been doing this all week and I couldn’t think of any changes that would cause this. Ventura doesn’t get updates very often
