Fonts are not deactivated when the PC is turned off

Test environment:
VirtualBox 7.2.4
Windows 10 Pro/11 Pro 25H2
FontBase 2.22.4/2.23.1
default settings: start FB on system start: off

I activate the Roboto font in FontBase and verify that it’s available in Notepad. When exiting FontBase, the font is deactivated and unavailable in Notepad. Everything is fine here.

Turning off the computer while FontBase is running with the Roboto font activated.

Expected behavior: FB will exit correctly, deactivating the Roboto font, after which the computer will shut down. After restarting the PC, the Roboto font should no longer be available in Notepad.

Actual behavior: FB exits, the computer shuts down, but the Roboto font is not deactivated and is available in the system after restarting.

Hello @NyBumBum, welcome back and thank you for then post and a very diligent :folded_hands:
If I may clarify a few points before investigating:

  • Is Roboto available in the system before any activation via FontBase?
  • Is Roboto available after system restart even when FontBase is closed and hasn’t been launched at all?

Thank you again,

Hi yuriy!
Freshly installed Windows with one program installed: FontBase.
Of course, Roboto font is not available on a clean Windows installation.

  1. Roboto is activated via FontBase.
  2. After that, the computer is turned off.
  3. After restarting, Roboto is available in the system. FontBase is not running at this time.

Thank you for the quick reply NyBumBum :folded_hands:
Can confirm that the bug is indeed reproducible in a real-life environment (Windows laptop) and the issue is only fixed if the font is question is deactivated after opening the app.

Thank you again,
