HI everyone, I hope you can help me.

When I turn on my PC, the first thing I do is open FontBase, because if I don’t, Corel Draw doesn’t detect the activated fonts. Today, when I start FontBase, I see that the activated fonts don’t appear; in fact, I can’t see any fonts at all.
_ When I tap any folder where it says there are fonts, I get “these are not the fonts you’re looking for.”

_ I updated FontBase to the latest version, restarted, and the problem persists. / I uninstalled Kaspersky, restarted, and the problem persists.

_ I created a new folder with six random fonts and dropped them into FontBase. These six fonts do appear, but they are not activated (even though some were activated before the problem). If you activate them, the indicator turns green as if there were no problems, and in the “ALL,” “RECENT,” or “INACTIVE” directories, it only shows those six fonts; the rest don’t appear.

Now, let me explain the strangest part: if I open CorelDRAW, it detects the activated fonts, whether FontBase is open or closed. I should clarify that if I didn’t open FontBase before CorelDRAW, it wouldn’t detect the fonts.

I hope you can help me, as this is a big problem for my work. Not being able to see the fonts or know which ones are activated is essential for me.

I hope this is clear; please use Google Translate.
Best regards and thank you.

Hello Alejandro, thank you for the post and welcome to the forum
Everything is very clear even with Google Translate, thank you.
Could you please try to reset FontBase settings using this guide? Reset Settings — FontBase Tutorials
After you do so, please open FontBase and select “Root folder” - “Change”, then select the old root folder location in the pop-up window.

Please let me know if this helps
Thank you again,

Thank you so much for the help.
I followed the steps you described and now I can see all the fonts, but as you mentioned, I lost the selections I had created and the fonts I had activated over the past few months; they are no longer active.
If I restore the backup I made from the deleted folder, the problem returns.
It’s sad to have lost so much work time. Could you tell me what the problem was or how to prevent it from happening again?

Thank you so much for everything.

Thank you for the quick update Alejandro
Glad to hear it worked out, but still very sorry about the loss of productivity during this time :pensive:
To answer your questions we would first have to investigate when this started happening and why
Do you remember when this happened? Were there any changes in Windows, FontBase or your font folder structure during that time?

Thank you again,

The only thing I can mention is a Windows update; nothing else happened.
It would be great if FontBase could find a way to save or back up all the collections and their preferences (both active and inactive fonts).
A few months ago, I had to move all my files to a new PC, and I subscribed to FontBase thinking that when I activated my account on the new PC, all my work would be restored, but that wasn’t the case. I think if they fix that issue, they’d be the best font management software, and many people would continue to subscribe.
Best regards, and thank you very much.

Thank you for the quick reply and the additional info
If nothing else changed, then it looks like the Windows update was the most likely cause of what’s happened
Regarding the ability to export collections - it’s actually possible using “Settings” - “Export collections” in FontBase. The feature has been present in the application for quite a while. You can find more information here as well: Awesome Features — FontBase Tutorials
