Any fix for this? I’m having the same issue and FontBase has been installed for months.
For me, it helped to reduce te amount of folders in the FontBase Root folder from a few thousand to just a few folders.

Is there a quick way to do this? 
By using smart folders on mac osx to filter & move all font files.
