Hi, friends.
Some of my old Photoshop and Illustrator projects using Google Fonts broke after Fontbase started to offer Variable versions of Google Fonts.
My workflow was: Enabling entire families used in projects and open project files, voilá!
After latest updates, my projects started to point a lot of missing fonts, even it’s being active inside Fontbase.
After days of research I detected these Variable versions at the end of family Styles list.
Well, “let’s disable only these Variable fonts” and SHAZAM! My projects recognized the fonts correctly and came back to good old days.
So, now my activation process extended a bit: now I activate entire family, but need to get into Styles list to check and disable Variable versions when available, family by family.
Variables are awesome, but not when conflicting and breaking my work.
- Operating system version: Windows 11
- FontBase version: 2026.3.0
- What actions caused the issue: Activate family including Variable versions
