On the Linux Mint Debian6 Edition (Cinnamon) the auto-update didn’t function since v. 2.18???
I had to start a new download and install the latest release of FontBase AppImage, reattaching it to both menu and screen launchbutton.
On the system running openSuSE 15.6 (Xfce) it just needed a look under the question mark top right: ‘relaunch to update’. No problem, that went well
But… on neither system since those updates the autostart functions.
Since it stopped working on both distros with different desktops, I suppose it to be found somewhere in the AppImage-code.
Please have that checked out; it’s not killing but impractical.
it was both.
For the update I needed to check the question mark (auto-update was set but ignored). After that the auto-start failed.
But there is some good news as well:
For several reasons not related to FontBase I had to fully reinstall the notebook with LMDE6, so with a fresh download of the application.
Now there the start on system startup functions as a dream, like before.
It was just that hand inflicted update and it’s result that proved failing on auto-start.
The next update of course I will report the results.
The other distro (openSuSE) still has the problem on auto-start, but that system’s main focus is not typographical.
I will however try to get it working again, so I can report a next update’s result on both distros
greetings,
David.
