I would love to be able to have multiple search factors. For example, if I want to search for calligraphy fonts, but exclude ones that I’ve tagged as “formal.” It would also be great to be able to use the advanced search feature within a specific category or tag instead of my entire library.
Currently you can do complex searches like:
tags: serif, oldstyle weight 0.1-0.5 contrast 0.5-0.8
Do you really need the exclusion possibility?
It would still come in handy, but I hadn’t realized I could do the advance search within a tag or collection - that certainly helps.
Now that I think about it, the most convenient would be a search that would include only fonts that contain each of the tags chosen. For example, doing a search for tags serif and decorative would only give me fonts that have both tags.
It is how it works right now.
Good god man, I need a manual. I had no idea that was what the app would do. Thank you.
New suggestion: update FontBase — Learn with advanced functions or actual docs
Yeah, we plan to do that
Yes, I need exclusion functionality. What about when I want a serif that isn’t also a slab serif?
Another example: if I (hypothetically) went to the trouble of making a tag for ink traps, I might also want to find a font with or without ink traps depending on the media I’m designing for.
