Open Sans Italic missing and ExtraBold Italic mislabeled

Open Sans Italic is missing and Open Sans ExtraBold Italic is named as though it is the regular italic

I wonder why you get the 4 font styles to view. I see in this case the regular and regular italic styles because my open sans from Google fonts is a variable font. Fontbase doesn’t show the different weights of variable fonts. if I switch to the waterfall preview window I see the slider for the font weight preview …
