Postscript type 1 fonts not activating (Mac OS Catalina)

When I add Postscript type 1 fonts, they copy to the fontbase folder but show as empty files… how do I activate these font types?

I don’t believe FontBase supports Type 1 fonts. I know that Adobe ended support for Type 1 fonts in January of this year. Unless you’re using fonts from Adobe Creative Cloud, which has a hybrid of Type 1 fonts called OpenType CFF. If you need to, you can convert Type 1 fonts online with https://convertio.co/ Just upload the pfb file and choose your font format and download the result. I’ve used it before and the result are acceptable. Or, if you have a lot of fonts to convert, you can purchase TransType.
