[RESOLVED] Font activation is buggy

Hi,
I can’t activate any fonts. I Get the red text box “Could not activate * font” every time. Not even the Google font is possible to activate. I have no connectivity issues to internet.
I’ve changed the root folder, I even gave Fontbase full Disk permissions in my system settings but that doesn’t seem to work either. When I look in the Fontbase root folder, the fonts are there, but they are not activated in the app.

Please include the flowing when reporting a bug:

  • Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6

  • FontBase version: 2.23.1

Hello Johan, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum :folded_hands:
First off - really sorry for the inconvenience
A few questions to understand what the issue might be:

  • When did this start happening?
  • Has the app always been behaving like this?
  • Is the root folder set to a local or a network drive?

Thank you again,

It’s been like that right from the start. For example I can see the Google fonts section. But when I try to activate a red alert message says Can not activate [*] font.
When I look in the root folder in Finder I can see google fonts copied to that folder.

The root folder is in a local folder. The folder that was automatically chosen when I installed it.

Can it be that iCloud is messing things up in some way?

Hey,
I uninstalled everything and downloaded the app again. Now, suddenly, everything seems to be working fine. I’ll keep you posted if somethings happens.

Thank you for the quick reply Johan :folded_hands:
Sounds like it could’ve had something to do how the app was installed last time, in terms of granting access rights perhaps
At any rate, glad to hear the issue is gone, and thank you. Do let us know if it returns.

Thank you again,
