I am using Windows 10 and I opened up my free Font Base account and suddenly I was unable to see 2000 fonts that I have on my computer. I had personal folders on it under both my name and Creative Fabrica. I then saw that I had an option to pay for more fonts a month for Creative Market which I am not interested in.
I decided to pay for a monthly account thinking I’d get the options to use my old Creative Market and Personal folders but they are still not showing up. Where did they go? I work with fonts in my design business and many that are missing are ones I use often.
Hello Aimee, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
Would it be possible to remember where the 2000 missing fonts were located in terms of FontBase’s folder structure inside its Root folder?
Are these font files still on your computer?
Well, they were in my Providers folder which was on the User/Aimee/FontBase. It just stopped reading almost 11,000 fonts. I realized after I wrote this that it was only reading HALF of what I had.
But! I copied the folder and named it Providers1. The original had been named Providers and now its reading all the fonts.
So I am now seeing everything. I just wonder why it disappeared in the first place.
I know that I didn’t need help at this point but thank you for responding so very quickly! I love this program and use it all the time.
Thank you for the quick reply Aimee, glad the issue was resolved
The Providers folder is meant for fonts that are shipped with FontBase, at the moment - from Google and FontMarket. Keeping any other fonts or folders inside Providers may result in inconsistent behaviour, including the experience you’ve had.
So yes, moving any user-added fonts or folders out of Providers was going to be my suggestion but you’ve already beaten me to it
