Hi, I’d like to organize my font collection. I have a base folder containing all my font files. I want to create folders or collections (it doesn’t matter which) and sort my fonts into them.
However, I can’t move my fonts out of the root folder and into other folders. If I move a font from the root folder into a collection, it remains in the root folder as well.
How can I tell if I’ve already sorted a particular font?
My root folder holds 500 fonts. If I sort 10 of them into a collection, the root folder still contains 500 fonts, while the collection has 10. There is no indicator showing which fonts have already been sorted.
Unfortunately, this makes it impossible to properly organize larger font collections, as you never know which fonts have already been processed.
Moving fonts into folders (and subfolders) would likely solve the problem, as the physical file would actually be relocated to a specific folder. But that isn’t possible directly within the program, is it?
What are your best practices for organizing a large font collection while keeping track of what has already been sorted?
