I’m trying to add a photo of the odd error message I’m getting but it won’t let me for some reason.
Once I open FB and try to type text into the bottom, it pops up “Something bad happened”
Error: New version 2026.2.0 is not signed…
after more code lines it has a blue restart button.
it continues to do the same thing each time i hit the restart.
I did try to uninstal and reinstall but it didn’t help.

i did do that but will try again. will take a bit as i can’t access that computer yet. this seems to be happening all all computers I have FB on
apologies for the delay. I uninstalled and reinstalled again. opened it and seemed fine. closed it and next time i opened it got a pop up that says “can’t access root folder”

This is quite odd since it doesn’t look like a message FontBase can produce.
Would it be possible to attach a screenshot here using something like https://postimages.org/ (unfortunately the forum platform has issues with built-in image uploading at the moment).

Have you perhaps already checked if the root folder (location visible in the Settings page) exists and contains your fonts?
