I was a $3 subscriber but decided to take the plunge and go Lifetime. But it looks like both subscriptions are active at the same time. Will the $3 one end by it’s self at the end of the month or do I need to do it manually? I was nervous about canceling it after seeing the message.

Yes, you’re on the right path. The way to go is to cancel the monthly subscription, it will not affect your lifetime access.
