System tags of the font

In version 2.22.4 there are 2 new switches in the settings:
“Disable crowd tags” and ”Disable system tags”.
I disabled crowd tags and the SuperSearch tab now says “No tagged font found… ” for all Google fonts + 1500 of my fonts.
I.e. FontBase didn’t find any “system tag” in the 5000 fonts. I searched Google Search for the term “system tag”, but Google doesn’t seem to know what “system tag of the font” is…
Please explain this new term and provide some examples of fonts with “system tag”.
Thanks.

Hello @NyBumBum, thank you for your post
System tags is not a new term as far as I know, it was introduced together with crowd tags, if not earlier. As for the reason there don’t seem to be any that can be viewed - will have to investigate.

Thank you again,

Hi @yuriy, you didn’t answer, so I’ll repeat the questions:

  1. What is “system tag of the font”?
  2. Examples of fonts with “system tag”?

Hello @NyBumBum, apologies for not providing a direct answer to the clearly formulated questions

  1. A “system tag of the font” is any tag created by our internal system.
  2. Abel-Regular, Alef-Regular, Alef-Bold and most, if not all, fonts in the Google provider.

Hope this helps

Thank you very much for the clarification, @yuriy!
One more question: what system tags does the Abel font have?
Currently, the program displays 8 tags for the Abel font: FontBase considers them all to be crowd tags.

sans, condensed, narrow, clean, modern, thin, serif, square

Thank you for the quick reply @NyBumBum
Off the top of my head the one I definitely remember is “google”. Also, I can see that currently there are technical issues with accessing the system tags (possibly the main reason they can’t be seen in the app).

Thank you again,
