Can't Add New Watched Folder

Hello!

I am unable to add a new Watched Folder. When I click (+)Add > Watched Folder the “Select folders to watch” dialogue successfully appears, and it appears that I am able to choose the desired folder from my local drive. However, when I’ve selected my folder and the dialogue disappears, I get no feedback - no signs of loading. I am able to successfully add the folder as a normal folder.

I’ve tried this multiple times with multiple folders, each time getting this result. I’ve also tried reinstalling Fontbase and restarting my computer, similarly to no avail.

This seems to be similar to the issue experienced here, but there are no helpful replies: Can't add new folders or watched folders

Windows 10 Home version 21H2, on a Dell XPS 13 9360. Thanks for any help!

I’ve been dealing with this one as well for some time now, so a fix would be much appreciated.

Hello @natespa and @jcd666, welcome to the forum and thank you for bringing this up, and sorry for the delay in replying.
This looks very similar to something we’ve investigated in the past.
Not to ask a gazillion questions potentially useless questions and wasting your guys’ time, would it be possible to check if the below advice worked for you first?

Hello @syrehn, Yuriy from the dev team, sorry for the late reply and thank you for your post. When you were copying the second folder, did you by any chance have the folder you copied initially as selected in FontBase? If so, could you trying selecting the ALL collection at the top left, copy the second folder from Google Drive and see if it will work? If you have a folder selected in the application, whenever you’re trying to add a new folder, FontBase will try to add the new folder into the …

If it does not, we’ll do our best to figure out where the problem is and see what can be done about it.

Hi there,
Same problem like @natespa here.

Me and my Team want to use Fontbase, and for all other team-members it works perfectly fine. But on my Mac Studio (2023 - Ios 14) i can’t create watched folders which are located on the Companys Server (connected Via LAN-Cable).

Creating watched folders from “Desktop” or “Downloads” works perfectly. But if I try to add a watched folder from the server the exactly same things happen like @natespa described.
(Also after Re-installing the program, trying older versions or restart the computer). Now i use the latest version and it stil won’t work.

I also read the article wich you mentioned in your answer, but couldn’t help me.

Hello Simon, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
From the investigation you’ve conducted and the information provided it seems the cause lies somewhere beyond FontBase itself, but rather have to do with the Company Server access rights and the specific OS. Sorry for not providing a solution at this point
