please let me know when we can expect a fix for new indesign 2025. thanks
Hello @mothfri, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
I’m afraid there is no definitive timeline at the moment, sorry about that
I’ve changed the topic title and category to better reflect the contents.
Thank you again,

ok, thanks for your answer. this is very bad i have say. is fontbase overall active? or just some forum posts? really wondering. i love the software, but thats very strange.
Thank you for the quick reply
Yes, FontBase is active, although I have to admit I’m a bit puzzled by the question, mostly by the “very strange” part. What do you mean exactly?
To be honest I am also wondering why I am paying monthly or yearly and then the software doesn’t even support the most recent Adobe versions.
So basically fontbase is now useless (?) for everyone until the plug-in support for the 2025 Creative Suite will arrive?
Hello @Voget, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
And thank you for expressing your opinion, we always value user feedback, positive or otherwise
If you believe that every single FontBase user around the world is using it exclusively with the intent of utilising auto-activation plugins for CC 2025 apps and literally nothing else, i.e. no usage with 2020-2024 CC apps, no manual font activation, no collections or organisation in any other way, no font viewing without installation etc, then and only then the answer to your question in the way you’ve phrased it would be “yes”.
Even without going into actual usage statistics and just scrolling through this forum one might easily see that this is not the case and couldn’t have been further from reality.
From the “So basically…” question’s wording it looks like you also believe that anyone who isn’t interested in the CC 2025 plugins will find the app useless, which sounds quite bizzare frankly.
Also, the “now useless (?)” part is very confusing and doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. It would’ve made sense if the sole purpose of FontBase was to auto-activate fonts in CC 2025 apps, nothing else, but that was never the case to my knowledge:thinking:

P.S. Good news, just had a recent discussion within the team and it seems some CC 2025 plugins will be available shortly
nice to read we will see a fix for 2025 versions soon. and i am really happy to read its not using soley for adobe only. this means we can expect integrations for affinity designer and publisher soon!
Last year, when Adobe released the 2024 versions of software, we had the same discussion about plugins. You released the plugins for the 2024 versions in a short time. I hope you will respond in the same way.
I haven’t read such an arrogant response from someone responsible for communication with Users in a long time.
And I agree with Voget that the Adobe plug-in is one of the most important features for professional users. Currently, Fontbase is useless for me too, even though I pay for a subscription.
Hello @Skogtroll, thank you for your post and welcome to the forum
And thank you for sharing your opinion on the communication approach chosen by me in response to @Voget’s message
As for the app being useless, just to clarify for my better understanding - am I correct in assuming that you’ve been using FontBase for some time, but at one point upgraded all of your CC apps to their 2025 versions, which replaced all the previous ones?
Thank you again,

i guess this is what everyone did. do you want us to use old verison and not update? or what is the point of your question. and please answer about affinity since you stated yourself how widely fontbase is used. thanks
Hello @mothfri, thank you for your reply
Same, that’s why I’m trying to better understand what is going on, to know what the actual situation is and try to refrain from guesses and assumptions:)
It is not my place to tell you how to use CC apps, so to answer your question - not at all:)
The point of my question to @Skogtroll was, as I’ve explicitly stated before asking it, “just to clarify for my better understanding”.
As for “please answer about affinity” you’re mentioning - I don’t see a question anywhere in this topic, could you please point me to it if I’ve missed it somehow?
Also, it would be great if you could answer my question from this reply:
Thank you again,
what very strange means shows us the whole thread and your way of communicating with the community.
and if you try to read my answer more precise again you’ll find the info about affinity.
Thank you for the quick reply
I don’t really understand the first part of your post, sorry, what do you mean?
As for your answer - I did read it a few times to make sure I haven’t missed anything, but the part about the question still eludes me, sadly I do see your statement about Affinity, but no question.
Thank you again,
then read my first part again. i will not explain this further.
and yes, my expectations tied to affinty are the question. i didn’t know i have to put a quesitonmark. i am very sorry for that…
I see, thank you
As for the question - no worries, it happens, thank you for clarifying:)
Affinity plugin support has already been discussed in a couple of topics on this forum:
Could we please move the Affinity discussion to either to keep the topics and information better organised so that other users could also benefit from easier searching in the future?
Thank you again,
no. just give a timeframe for affinity. not anohter discussion. it was you who came up with widely used claim. that’s why its not even a discussion for me.
Agreed.
Unfortunately the Affinity plugin situation is still as it was described in this post:
Affinity still hasn’t gotten back to us regarding the possibility of implementing a FontBase plugin, so I’m sorry to say there is no definitive deadline as to when Affinity plugin will be available and the ball is in Affinity’s court
Thank you again,
@mothfri @Voget @Skogtroll please accept my sincerest apologies for the way I’ve communicated in this topic. I meant no ill will, but I do understand it most likely was uncomfortable.
I accept that my attitude was inappropriate, and for that I am very sorry.
I have been thoroughly reprimanded by my higher-ups for my behaviour in this situation and I assure you this will not happen again
Listen man absolutely no hard feelings. I was just shocked that a font management software that has a user base of probably 99.5% designers is not supporting the software that 9/10 designers are using.
I did not want to be rude even though I might have lost it in the moment. I really appreciate you and your work and this beautiful app that makes my life so much easier and I am happy to pay for.
Thank you for updating the Adobe 2025 plug-ins! Peace Brother
